This site is a reference, not a practice — here is what it can and cannot do for you

This Site Takes No Engagements

Hartzer.net is a reference. It sells nothing, quotes no prices, and takes on no work. There is no intake process behind this page, no case review, and no service to purchase.

That matters most if you arrive here in the worst circumstances — having just lost control of a domain name and looking for anyone who will pick up. This site cannot help with that directly. What it can do is explain the mechanisms accurately enough that you know which questions to ask, what evidence to preserve before it disappears, and which deadlines are already running. Preserving registrar email, account logs and DNS records in the first hours is often worth more than any advice received later.

Please do not send confidential case material, evidence, or anything covered by a protective order through this site. It is a public informational website, not a secure channel, and no confidentiality attaches to anything sent through it.

Where Professional Inquiries Go

Consulting inquiries and expert witness inquiries are handled through Bill Hartzer's practice at hartzer.com, not here. That includes retention as an expert in domain name and internet matters, search and domain consulting engagements, and anything involving an active dispute or a live incident.

If you are an attorney evaluating whether a matter needs a domain name expert, the practical threshold is usually evidentiary: if the case turns on registration or transfer history, on who controlled a DNS (Domain Name System) configuration at a given moment, or on the technical record behind a domain name's use, that record generally has to be examined and explained by someone who works with it. If the dispute is purely about trademark rights and the domain facts are undisputed, it may not.

Sending a message through this site does not create any relationship, does not retain anyone, and does not preserve any deadline. Only an executed engagement does that.

Corrections, Questions and Feedback

The form below is the right place for a narrow set of things, and it is genuinely read.

  • Corrections. If something on this site is factually wrong, out of date, or has been overtaken by an ICANN policy change or a registry operator's revision, say which page and what changed. Corrections are the most useful message this site receives.
  • Coverage suggestions. If a mechanism, failure mode or policy in this field is not covered here and should be, describe it.
  • Citation and reference questions. Questions about sourcing, or about how a statement here was arrived at.

What the form cannot do is answer a question about your own situation. Individual fact patterns require counsel, and a reply written from a paragraph of description would be worth less than nothing to you if you are facing a real deadline. Messages are not monitored on any schedule, no response is promised, and nothing sent through this page should be treated as urgent, confidential or privileged.

Or write directly: [email protected]

This form posts nowhere. It opens a pre-filled message in your own mail application, addressed to the site, which you can read and edit before sending. Nothing typed here is transmitted to or stored on this website. Please do not send confidential or case material through it.

This is a reference, not a practice. Hartzer.net sells nothing, takes no engagements, and is not legal advice. Nothing here creates any relationship or preserves any deadline.
